Madi is an amazing lead of our girls Moveabilities program, is passionate, skilled, kind and talented. We chatted to Madi about AUA and what she has to bring to programs:

Tell us a bit about you and what you hope to bring to AUA.

I hope to bring a fun, inviting, and positive vibes to AUA. I want to be someone the children and parents feel comfortable to come to for help and feel as if they are going to get the best possible support tailored to their needs.

What is the best part of working with children at AUA?

Seeing how the children continue to grow and improve through every session. I also enjoy seeing the self-confidence grow in all the children we work with and seeing the empowerment and independence the children achieve through the sessions.

What do you find is the best way to bring out the best in the children you support?

Patience and listening to the children’s needs, while incorporating their personal interests into each session.

Describe one of your best AUA memories?

My favourite AUA memory was a massive water fight that was held at the end of the term and seeing how much fun all the children had with all their friends and instructors.

How would describe the feeling you get when you see a child pick up a new skill?

Pure excitement!

What is one thing you have learned or shared with others in the AUA team?

I have learnt how to ride a tandem bike… well still learning.

If you had one superpower what would it be.

To time travel. There is so many past times or events I wish I could visit. I also would love to be able to visit the future.

Hobby? Vice?

I love to create. Anything from painting, drawing, cooking, or building

What is one thing that brings you joy each day?

Knowing that every day is a chance for a new adventure, or a chance to do better in the world.
